This community is for peoples of all First Nations, all who consider themselves Indigenous, Aboriginal, Native, Amerindian, or Métis and those who sympathize.

First Nations Freaks stemmed from a "cult" on the defunct (as of Feb. 2020) VampireFreaks.com. Said website was home to many goth/industrial/emo/metalhead/juggalo/general outcast "freaks" for two decades. Even if you're a "normie" or "mundane" you're cool to hang with us.

Rules:

- Debate friendly; no personal attacks!

Mexica Movement
We are Nican Tlaca,
the Indigenous People
of Canada, U.S., Mexico,
"Central and South America"

We reject all European divisions of our continent.
We reject the artificial border divisions of our people.
We reject the White Supremacist ideology
that claims Europeans are permanently endowed
with the right to define who we are as a people.

We include "First Nation" and "Native American",
"Indigenous People", full-blood and mixed-blood,
all as one Nican Tlaca Nation.

We say, "No to occupation! Yes to liberation!"
We say, "This is still our continent! It is our land."
We say, "Europeans are the illegals---since 1492!"

Buffalo Field Campaign
BFC)is the only group working both in the field and in the policy arenas to stop the harassment and slaughter of America’s last wild buffalo.

Formalized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1994, we also protect the natural habitat of wild free-roaming bison and other native wildlife, and stand with First Nations to honor the sacredness of wild buffalo.

Our primary goal is to create permanent year-round protection for bison and the ecosystem they depend on—including respect for the migratory needs of this long-exploited and clearly endangered species.

Native Organizers Alliance
The Native Organizers Alliance is a training and organizing network dedicated to building the capacity of Native tribes, traditional societies, and community groups to make transformational change. It also provides a forum for Native leaders and organizers to work in collaboration with each other and promote their work with non-Native national allies.

The Native Organizers Alliance (NOA) supports grassroots-driven social change rooted in Native traditional practices and values to advance sovereignty and the health and wellbeing of rural and urban Native communities and reservations across Indian Country.

Thunder Valley
Thunder Valley CDC has developed a comprehensive, innovative and grassroots approach to collaborating with and empowering Lakota youth and families on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation to improve the health, culture and environment of our community in a way that heals and strengthens our identity.

We are building a regenerative community that goes beyond bricks and mortar—this community is focused on creating our own pathway out of poverty by building local skill and leadership capacity, exercising our sovereignty, and creating a space that empowers our community to realize its fullest potential. All of our work is place-based and comprehensive, centered on applying indigenous innovation in a way that honors our cultural heritage and is adapted for the needs and vision of our local community.

This project is a grassroots, community-driven project.  We have completed hundreds of hours of community engagement to make decisions about the development we are creating and programs we offer, and we continue to incorporate community feedback into our work as we move forward. Ultimately, our goal is to create sustainable systems change on the Pine Ridge Reservation as a model for how change is possible across the country and internationally.

Water Protector Legal Collective
Water Protector Legal Collective (WPLC) is the on-the-ground legal team for the Dakota Access Pipeline resistance at Standing Rock. We continue to maintain a presence in North Dakota and provide legal advocacy, jail and court support, criminal defense, and civil and human rights protection to the Native peoples and their allies who gathered at the ceremonial resistance camps.

While our current work remains far from over, WPLC is taking steps towards a future beyond Standing Rock – continuing to provide movement legal support in other contexts when our work in North Dakota winds down.

The Indigenous People’s Power Project
IP3 is a nonviolent direct action training and support network advancing Indigenous communities’ ability to exercise their inherent rights to environmental justice, cultural livelihood, and self-determination. Formed in 2004 as a project of the Ruckus Society, IP3 works across Turtle Island with communities that are most vulnerable to threats of ecological devastation and resource exploitation, and most poised to lead solution-oriented action.

The IP3 team of trainers, cultural practitioners, and action coordinators offer NVDA training, action support, and network building that are customized to fit the traditions of Indigenous communities. IP3 remains an invaluable resource for Native activists, especially those working in geographically marginalized regions of North America.

Honor The Earth
Our mission is to create awareness and support for Native environmental issues and to develop needed financial and political resources for the survival of sustainable Native communities. Honor the Earth develops these resources by using music, the arts, the media, and Indigenous wisdom to ask people to recognize our joint dependency on the Earth and be a voice for those not heard.

As a unique national Native initiative, Honor the Earth works to a) raise public awareness and b) raise and direct funds to grassroots Native environmental groups. We are the only Native organization that provides both financial support and organizing support to Native environmental initiatives. This model is based on strategic analysis of what is needed to forge change in Indian country, and it is based deep in our communities, histories, and long-term struggles to protect the earth.

Amazon Watch
A nonprofit organization founded in 1996 to protect the rainforest and advance the rights of indigenous peoples in the Amazon Basin. We partner with indigenous and environmental organizations in campaigns for human rights, corporate accountability and the preservation of the Amazon's ecological systems.

We envision a world that honors and values cultural and biological diversity and the critical contribution of tropical rainforests to our planet's life support system. We believe that indigenous self-determination is a critical component of any successful conservation strategy for the Amazon, and see that indigenous knowledge, cultures and traditional practices contribute greatly to sustainable and equitable stewardship of Mother Earth. We strive for a world in which governments, corporations and civil society respect the collective rights of indigenous peoples to free, prior and informed consent over any activity affecting their territories and resources. We commit, in the spirit of partnership and mutual respect, to support our indigenous allies in their efforts to protect life, land, and culture in accordance with their aspirations and needs, as well as the needs of future generations.
